2011 Fairy Garden Workshop Summary

Greetings fellow fairy gardeners!
Thanks for a great season!

Our 2011 Fairy Garden workshop series has now come to a close for the year. Within this series, Victoria Anderson has created and conducted fairy garden workshops covering several topics. During these (free!) workshops sessions, we have explored ways in which to create a fantasy environment with herbs, flowers, natural materials and miniature accessories (some that we sell, and some that we have made).

In our twice-monthly sessions from July through October we have covered several facets of creating these magical worlds.

  • What are fairy gardens?
  • Fairy lore and the magical realm
  • How-to’s of container gardening
  • Selecting the right plants for your garden and how to care for them
  • Scale and proportion in choosing plants and accessories.
  • Fairy dwellings and how to create them
  • Fairy fun! Creating a playful environment
  • Vertical gardening and how to maximize your small space containers for fairies, gnomes, pixies, brownies, elves and other small friends to explore.
  • The changing seasons, and how to bring seasonal notes into your fairy gardens.
  • Indoor and outdoor fairy gardens and what to consider.
  • Creating fantastic fairy inhabitants out of natural elements.

Each week we present continually changing installations and loads of fairy garden creations to inspire you. Through talk, instruction and demonstrations we bring your ideas to life (sometimes even allowing for a hands-on opportunity for you to create your own garden on-site).

We look forward to continuing the series next year and we very much look forward to your participation! We will put more info on the website for new workshops next year. Stay tuned!

Remember… to have a magical life you must seek a magical life!

See you all next year!
