Pay on-site for a new edge on your knives, scissors, pruners, and more with this local talent. Plan on dropping them off and then shopping while he works his magic. Prices are as follows:

Off-site sharpening is available for saw blades and other more advanced trimmers.

There is an advance reservation fee of $35.00. The fee covers three plants, the container, planting medium, assorted rocks and moss, and expert guidance. We have blocked an hour and a half for the creation of terrarium masterpieces. Please call to reserve your spot today, this class fills up quickly.
10:30 AM Children’s Seed Starting Workshop with Gethsemane’s own Eileen Bora
Bring your children for a hands-on seed starting workshop. They will learn about plant parts, plant needs, as well as how to plant, water, and grow flowers or food from seed. Materials will be provided.
11:30 PM Spring Container Planting with Joan Murray
Joan is one of Gethsemane’s container planting artists and annual yard associates. She will be taking you through the step-by-step process and best practices of crafting beautiful and unique Spring containers.
1:30 PM Spring Tree Pruning Essentials with John Eskandari
John is the owner and landscaper for Urban Plantsman, he also teaches classes at the Chicago Botanic Gardens and for the Illinois Arborists Association Certification courses. He works closely with The Hadley Institute and other area institutions creating education programs and beautiful gardens. Please join him for a very helpful class focused on which trees to prune now, how to do it, and why it is important.

Laura is a nationally touring children’s recording artist and award-winning producer with an ear for a catchy melody. Laura’s musical adventures first took listeners into the world of big-city-living, as seen through a child’s eyes, with her Parents’ Choice winning albums Kids in the City (2009) followed by the equally endearing Shining Like a Star (2011). Her 3rd release, In a Heartbeat (2014),is a collection of heartfelt, upbeat children’s songs that keep true to her folk-pop roots, using lots of acoustic instruments, and her latest Animal Tracks (2016) is a “best of” collection of Laura’s engaging animal songs.
