Italian. Uniform 7 ½”x 3 ½”, dark purple fruits with green calyx are
glossy and blemish free. Tall, sturdy, plants can set fruit under cool
conditions. Performs well in less favorable conditions.
Ping Tung Long Beautiful Chinese
heirloom from Taiwan. Slender fruits up to 12” long with shiny dark
lavender skin. Hardy, vigorous, disease resistant plants. This is a
prolific Taiwan variety that produces 12-16" long glossy purple-red
fruit with green calyx. The erect plants are very sturdy, vigorous and
resistant to bacterial wilt and can bear as many as 20 fruits each. This
variety is tolerant of heat and moisture.

Fruit shape is oval with a black-purple color.

long hybrid eggplant developed by Taikii Seed Company in Japan. Upright
plants are vigorous and high, producing extra long type fruits,14” long.
Fruits are black in color with purple calyx. Well suited for
containers. Sweet and succulent. Excellent in Oriental dishes. Great for
grilling and roasting. This is one of the long, thin eggplants you may
see served in gourmet restaurants because the skin is thin and the
flavor is sweet and mild. Very popular Asian variety. The fruit is
slender with purplish-black color and a purple calyx. Easy to grow,
early and productive variety. Great choice for stir-fry, grill or use in
tempura.
