Cactus and Succulents

Succulent plants are fantastic creations of nature, and fortunately they lend themselves to container cultivation, so anyone with a sunny windowsill or patio can appreciate them at home. Whether you’re growing a saucer full of cactus & succulent species, keeping a kitchen aloe plant for the occasional cooking mishap, or creating a desert panorama with large scale cactus and jade, Gethsemane Greenhouse has an incredible selection from which to choose.

Succulents are plants that have characteristics that allow them to survive infrequent or minimal amounts of water, sometimes surviving months of drought, or moisture that arrives only as fog or dew. This adaptation always includes a method of storing and preserving water for lean times. This usually consists of thickened, fleshy(succulent) stems, roots or leaves. Plants exhibiting the characteristics are termed succulent. Succulents occur in many plant families and are found naturally in the xeric or desert regions of the world.

Our Greenhouse staff will be happy to work with you in selecting the very best from our Cactus & Succulent varieties, providing you with care instructions, repotting and plant transfer guidelines, and identifying the proper soil mix for best results and longest life of your succulent plant.
