There’s always something growing at Gethsemane.
A new shipment of plants just arrived in our greenhouse! These blooming hibiscus are making it feel like a tropical oasis 🌺 Stay tuned for summer bloomers including bougainvillea, passion vine, mandevilla, blooming hanging baskets, jasmine, cordyline, gardenias, bananas, dipladenia, and lots of ferns which are all arriving early May. #gethsemanegreenhouse

Did you notice that our Herbs and Veg yard is set up alphabetically? The yard starts with basil then works its way down through the alphabet to lavender, rosemary, and thyme with all the herbs in between.
Come check out what’s new in the yard including potato bags, almond and olive trees, male and female kiwi plants, herb topiaries, dwarf apple trees, and more!

Spring Fling is 1 week away! Our annuals yard is bursting with color just in time for our spring open house April 20th & 21st, 2024. Come for the FREE donuts and coffee and stay for our FREE lectures and workshops. Don’t forget to bring your tools in for sharpening provided by Dave Nells. Come spend the weekend with us as we celebrate the start of the Spring season!

Now’s the time to add soil and compost! The start of the season is a great time to supplement your beds and containers with new soil and mix in compost.
Not sure of how much soil you need? For containers like window boxes and coco liners, we recommend taking off the top 2in. of soil and replacing it with a new layer of soil. This will help replenish nutrients that have leached out over time. Soil in containers can last around 5 years before you need to replace it all.
Wondering how much compost you need? Our go to ratio for adding compost to soil is 1 part compost to 2 parts soil.
Each planting area requires different needs so come on in and we will help you find the amendment that is right for your soil and plants.
All our soils, composts, mulches, rocks and sand are currently available in our parking lot. And we delivery!

Here it is folks, the official line up for our Spring Fling weekend! There will be lectures on soil, garden planning, bulbs, perennial planting, beekeeping, and medicinal herbs. Additionally, there will be FREE donuts from @downstatedonuts on Saturday. Dave the Knife Sharpener will be here all weekend to sharpen all your gardening tools, knives, and more! We can`t wait to kick off the Spring season with everyone April 20th and 21st, 2024. See you all at Gethsemane Garden Center!

Stone basin planters are back in stock! These beauties are hand carved from volcanic tuff stone, naturally porous, all individually unique and look great in landscapes and water features. They are very popular and go fast, check them out in our Statuary Department (entrance on Clark & Victoria St.)
