Have you ever spotted a houseplant growing from a ball of moss and wondered what it’s all about? Meet kokedama, the Japanese art of cultivating plants in moss-covered balls of soil!
We’ll begin with a brief introduction to the history and techniques of kokedama, followed by hands-on instruction as you create your very own. Before we get our hands dirty, participants will select suitable plants. Then we’ll start with a substrate base and cover it with moss, securing everything in place with fishing line before adding your selected plants.
Various plants suitable for the kokedama style will be available for your selection. You’ll leave with a beautiful, living moss ball to display at home or give as a thoughtful gift.
This class will definitely get messy, so please dress accordingly. Yes, the moss will be wet!
Workshop fee includes all necessary plants, materials, and supplies. Add-ons may be available for a fee.
